Recently, Knowing Buddha Organization received notification from Buddhists who support the organization's work in protecting Buddhism. The report suggested that Englishbypcan Instragram page used Buddha’s image inappropriately which can lead to misunderstanding.

Improper usage of Buddha’s symbol is disrespectful for Buddhist. By disrespecting Buddha’s symbol, it is religiously sensitive and, in a way, disrespecting Buddhism. Moreover, the page used the grateful moment in the Story of the Buddha to make and irony benefiting their own interest which considered to be highly disrespectful.

Therefore, we decided to give the owner the right and proper ways to treat Buddha images by writing comments in the page. Not long after, the page responded and remove the post of disrespectful case.

เมื่อไม่นานมานี้องค์กรโนอิ้ง บุดด้า ได้รับการร้องเรียนจากพุทธศาสนิกชน ว่ามีการนำรูปพระสัญลักษณ์ มาใช้ในเพจสอนภาษา รวมทั้งการสื่อความหมายที่ไม่เหมาะสม ในเพจของแอปอินสตราแกรม ชื่อ “พี่แคน ติวอังกฤษพิชิต IELTS”

การนำรูปพระสัญลักษณ์ มาใช้และสื่อความหมายลักษณะดังกล่าว เป็นการกระทำที่ไม่เหมาะสมอย่างยิ่ง เนื่องจากเป็นการลดทอนคุณค่าของสัญลักษณ์ทางพระพุทธศาสนา เป็นการชี้นำและสื่อความหมายที่ผิดวิธีโดยใช้การวาดภาพล้อเลียนพุทธประวัติขององค์สมเด็จพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า

ด้วยความร่วมมือของชาวพุทธผู้ไม่นิ่งดูดายจำนวนมากที่ได้ร่วมกันเขียนคอมเมนต์อธิบายถึงความไม่เหมาะสมของการกระทำนี้ อันจะนำความเสื่อมเสียมาสู่พระพุทธศาสนา ซึ่งทางเพจก็ได้ลบโพสต์ดังกล่าวออกในทันที

นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งตัวอย่างของการแก้ไขที่น่าชื่นชม ซึ่งเกิดจากความพยายามในการอธิบายด้วยเหตุและผล เพื่อปลุกจิตสำนึกที่ดีงามของผู้ที่อาจกระทำไปด้วยความรู้เท่าไม่ถึงการณ์ หรือขาดความรู้ ความเข้าใจที่ถูกต้อง ทั้งยังเป็นตัวอย่างที่ดีต่อไปในการหยุดยั้งการนำสัญลักษณ์ทางพระพุทธศาสนาและพุทธประวัติมาใช้ในทางที่ผิด
